About this opportunity
The Kochi University of Technology (KUT) Special Scholarship Program (SSP) is a fully funded three-year doctoral (PhD) scholarship designed to attract outstanding international researchers. Students conduct research under the supervision of leading faculty members while working as research assistants on university research projects. The doctoral programme is taught entirely in English, allowing international students to pursue advanced research without requiring Japanese language proficiency
Requirements
- Be an international applicant.
- Obtain approval from a KUT SSP supervisor before submitting the formal application.
- Hold a Master's degree (or equivalent 18 years of education) before enrollment.
- Be 35 years old or younger at the time of enrollment.
- Have an outstanding academic record.
- Demonstrate strong research ability related to the selected SSP project.
- Meet the English language requirements for doctoral study.
- Submit all required application documents before the deadline.
- A copy of an email or other proof that clearly shows that your chosen supervisor has provided permission to apply
- Completed Pre-Application Request Form
- Academic transcripts and certificates (Bachelor’s & Master’s)
- Certificate of English proficiency (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS)
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Passport copy (if available)
- Two recommendation letters
