About this opportunity

The Japan-Africa Exchange Fellowship supports postgraduate researchers working in African Studies through research exchanges between African institutions and Japan. Researchers based at eligible African institutions can undertake research in Japan, while eligible researchers based in Japan can conduct research in Africa. Requirements

- Be a postgraduate researcher or qualified researcher working in a field related to African Studies. - Researchers from eligible African institutions can apply for research in Japan. - Have an appropriate research project. - Have the required academic qualification. - Establish the necessary institutional/research connection for the proposed exchange. - Submit the required research proposal and supporting documents. - Meet the host institution and programme requirements. - Research visits may be undertaken for a minimum of approximately 6–8 weeks and up to one year, depending on the programme terms.
