About this opportunity
The United Nations–Nippon Foundation Fellowship on Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea (UNNF OALOS) is a nine-month advanced training and research fellowship for mid-level professionals and government officials from developing countries. Fellows receive specialised training at the UN Headquarters in New York and then undertake a six-month research placement at a participating academic host institution.
Requirements
- Be 25–45 years old.
- Be a national of a developing State.
- Hold at least a first university degree or equivalent.
- Demonstrate ability to undertake advanced academic research.
- Be a mid-level government official or professional working directly in ocean affairs, law of the sea, marine science or a related field.
- Have strong spoken and written English.
- Be available for the full nine-month, in-person programme.
- Submit the required application and nomination forms.
