About this opportunity
The Stigler Center Journalists in Residence (JIR) Program is a professional development fellowship for experienced journalists interested in strengthening their understanding of business, economics, political economy and public policy. Fellows spend approximately 12 weeks at Chicago Booth, where they audit three courses, attend Stigler Center seminars and workshops, and interact with leading academics and fellow journalists from around the world.
Requirements
- Be a working journalist, editor or freelancer.
- Have several years of professional experience in journalism; the programme says strong applicants generally have a few years of post-degree work experience.
- Demonstrate strong journalism/reporting experience.
- Submit examples of your best published work.
- Articles relating to political economy, economics, business or Stigler-related topics are preferred, although they are not mandatory.
- Be proficient in English.
- Be available to participate fully in the programme.
- Basic economics/accounting knowledge is useful but not required
