The Royal Society University Research Fellowship (URF) is designed for outstanding early-career researchers who are ready to establish independent research careers at UK universities or research institutions. The fellowship provides long-term support, allowing researchers to build their own research teams and pursue innovative projects across the natural sciences. It is one of the Royal Society's flagship career development programmes and is highly competitive.

Requirements checklist

    Hold a PhD or equivalent research experience.

    Have between 3 and 8 years of postdoctoral research experience (career breaks may be considered).
