Terms of Service

Chombo helps you discover funding and career opportunities, check your fit, prepare application materials with AI-assisted tools (document generators and Coach's Feedback), and track your applications through to submission.

Chombo is a preparation and organisation tool. We do not guarantee that any application will succeed, and we are not responsible for decisions made by funders, universities or other opportunity providers.

• You must provide an accurate email address and keep your sign-in credentials secure.
• You are responsible for all activity under your account.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use Chombo.
• One person per account; do not share accounts or resell access.

Free plan. Includes 1 credit per calendar month at no cost.

Pro Monthly (£14.99/month). Includes 5 credits per billing month. Charged in advance each month until cancelled.

Pro Annual (£80/year). Includes 60 credits per billing year, resetting at each annual renewal. Charged in advance each year until cancelled.

Top-ups (£4.99). A one-off purchase of 5 additional credits. Top-up credits never expire and are only spent after your plan allowance runs out.

What uses a credit. One run of any of the five document generators, or one Coach's Feedback review. Cached results and the follow-up revision on the same review do not cost an additional credit.

Payment processing. Payments are processed by Stripe. Applicable taxes (such as VAT) are calculated and collected at checkout. Your bank statement may show the charge as "LINK.COM* CHOMBO".

Price changes. If we change plan prices we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before the new price applies to your renewal.

You can cancel your Pro plan at any time from the Plan & billing page via the Manage billing option. Cancellation takes effect immediately: your Pro access ends straight away and you return to the Free plan. We do not charge again after cancellation.

Because cancellation is immediate and digital services are delivered straight away, payments are non-refundable except where required by law. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact support@usechombo.com within 14 days and we will review it. Unused top-up credits are not refundable but never expire.

You agree not to:

• Use Chombo for anything unlawful, fraudulent or misleading, including submitting fabricated information to opportunity providers.
• Upload content you do not have the right to use, or content that is defamatory, hateful or infringes others' rights.
• Attempt to bypass plan allowances, fair-use limits or security controls.
• Scrape, reverse-engineer or overload the service, or access other users' data.
• Use automated tools to create accounts or generate content at abusive volumes.

We apply daily fair-use limits to keep the service reliable for everyone. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules, without refund where the breach is serious.

You retain ownership of everything you upload and of the documents Chombo generates for you. You grant us a limited licence to store, process and transmit your content solely to provide the service to you.

AI-generated text is a starting point, not professional advice. You are responsible for reviewing, editing and verifying anything you submit to a funder, university or employer.

The Chombo name, logo, site design and software are our property. Opportunity listings remain the property of their respective providers. You may not copy or republish substantial parts of the service without permission.

The service is provided "as is". We work to keep opportunity listings accurate and current, but deadlines, amounts and eligibility criteria can change: always confirm details on the provider's own site before applying.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (including unsuccessful applications, lost opportunities or lost data caused by your own actions). Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

We may update the service and these terms from time to time. For material changes we will give at least 14 days' notice on the site or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim in your own country.
