About this opportunity

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of British Columbia (UBC) is a fully funded Master's scholarship designed for academically outstanding young leaders from Africa who have demonstrated financial need, leadership potential, and a commitment to community impact. The programme follows a multi-stage selection process. Applicants first submit an Expression of Interest. Eligible candidates are then invited to complete the full scholarship application before progressing to the UBC graduate admission stage. Scholars also receive leadership training, mentoring, career development support, and access to the global Mastercard Foundation Scholars network

Requirements

- Be a citizen or recognized refugee of an African country. - Be 35 years old or younger at the time of application. - Hold a bachelor's degree. - Must not already hold a master's degree. - Meet the admission requirements for an eligible UBC Master's programme. - Demonstrate leadership potential. - Demonstrate financial need. - Show commitment to giving back to your community. - Submit: - Expression of Interest - CV/Resume - Academic transcripts - Two reference letters - Personal statements - Other supporting documents as required.
