Requirements checklist

🎓 Academic Requirement
• Bachelor’s degree (usually 4-year degree or equivalent) • Must have above-average academic performance (top third)

💼 Work Experience Requirement (Very Important)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience after Bachelor’s • Internships and volunteer work usually do not count

🎓 Degree Age Limit
• Your last academic degree should generally be not older than ~6 years at application time

🏫 Admission Requirement
• Must apply to a specific EPOS-listed postgraduate program in Germany • Must be accepted by the university • Scholarship is tied to selected courses only

🌍 Development Motivation
Applicants must show: • Strong development-related motivation • Commitment to improving home country systems (health, education, governance, economy, etc.) • Leadership potential in development fields

🗣️ Language Requirement
• Depends on program: • English programs → IELTS/TOEFL required • German programs: • Minimum B1 at application stage • Higher level (DSH-2 / TestDaF 4) before studies begin • 💰 Scholarship Benefits • Fully funded package typically includes: • Monthly stipend: • ~€992 (Master’s level) • ~€1,300–€1,400 (PhD level) • Health, accident & liability insurance • Travel allowance (flight support) • Rent subsidy (if applicable) • Family allowance (in some cases) • Sometimes German language course (up to 6 months
