About this opportunity
The Cecil Renaud Overseas Scholarship is a prestigious postgraduate scholarship awarded annually to one or two exceptional South African students to pursue a Master's (or equivalent) or PhD at a university of their choice in the United Kingdom. The scholarship is tenable for up to two years and is awarded based on academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to contributing positively to South Africa.
Requirements
- Be a South African citizen or permanent resident who has lived in South Africa for at least five years.
- Be under 27 years old at the time of application.
- Have completed the majority of your secondary education in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).
- Be in the final year of an Honours degree or a four-year undergraduate degree at a South African university.
- Have achieved, or be on track to achieve, cum laude or summa cum laude (or equivalent).
- Demonstrate outstanding leadership, commitment, resilience, and extracurricular involvement.
- Intend to pursue full-time Master's or PhD studies at a UK university.
- Show the potential to make a significant contribution to South Africa and your chosen field.
