About this opportunity
The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) Full Art Scholarship is a fully funded, one-year scholarship awarded to a qualifying Fine Arts student for the 2027 academic year. The scholarship aims to support talented South African artists who demonstrate academic excellence, artistic ability, and financial need while pursuing advanced studies in Fine Arts at an accredited South African tertiary institution
Requirements
- Be a South African citizen.
- Be under 35 years of age.
- Be accepted to study at a recognized and accredited South African tertiary institution.
- Have achieved a minimum average of 65% in the 2026 academic year.
- Demonstrate financial need and an inability to fund your studies independently.
- Be registered in 2027 for one of the following:
- Final year of a four-year Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts.
- Honours degree in Fine Arts (following a three-year Bachelor's degree).
- Master's degree in Fine Arts.
- One-year Advanced Diploma in Fine Arts (following a three-year diploma).
- Submit all required supporting documents before the deadline.
- Completed application form.
- Certified copy of South African ID.
- Academic transcripts for 2025 and 2026.
- Proof of admission/acceptance from an accredited institution.
- 6–8 images of artworks produced during 2025 and 2026.
- Artist statement (maximum 300 words) explaining:
- Who you are.
- Your artistic practice.
- Why you deserve the scholarship.
- Why you require financial assistance
