About this opportunity
The University of California, Berkeley Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program is a fully funded Master's scholarship that supports academically talented young leaders from Africa who have demonstrated leadership potential and faced significant barriers to higher education. The programme combines graduate education with leadership training, entrepreneurship, mentorship, and professional development. Scholars are expected to return to Africa after completing their studies to contribute to sustainable development and social transformation
Requirements
- Be a citizen of an African country (including refugees or forcibly displaced persons residing in Africa).
- Demonstrate outstanding academic achievement.
- Show strong leadership potential.
- Demonstrate financial need or significant barriers to accessing higher education.
- Apply and gain admission to an eligible UC Berkeley Master's programme.
- Intend to return to Africa after graduation to contribute to the continent's development.
- Meet all admission requirements for the chosen graduate programme.
