About this opportunity
The University of Cape Town Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme provides full-cost scholarships to academically talented young Africans facing significant economic and social barriers. The programme combines financial support with leadership development, mentorship, career preparation, and community engagement to prepare scholars to drive positive change across Africa. It supports first-time undergraduate and postgraduate (Honours and Master's) degree applicants.
Requirements
- Be a citizen of an African country.
- Demonstrate strong academic achievement.
- Show leadership potential and commitment to community service.
- Face significant economic or social barriers to accessing higher education.
- Apply for admission to an eligible UCT programme before applying for the scholarship.
- Submit the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme application once the call opens
