About this opportunity
The Humboldt Research Fellowship supports highly qualified researchers from outside Germany who want to conduct an independent research project in collaboration with a host researcher at a German research institution. It is available to researchers at two career stages: postdoctoral researchers and experienced researchers, and is open across academic disciplines
Requirements
- Be a researcher from outside Germany.
- Have an academic qualification equivalent to a PhD.
- Postdoctoral applicants: doctorate completed within the last 4 years, or expected to complete it before the relevant selection meeting.
- Experienced researchers: doctorate normally completed within the last 12 years, with an established independent research profile.
- Experienced researchers must generally hold a position such as assistant professor, lecturer or head of an independent research group.
- Have a strong publication record.
- Develop an independent research proposal.
- Secure a suitable academic host at a German research institution.
- Provide expert references and the required host statement.
- Meet the Foundation's language and other programme-specific requirements.
