ETH Zurich Postdoctoral Fellowship 2027

The ETH Zurich Postdoctoral Fellowship (ETH Fellows) supports outstanding incoming postdoctoral researchers who want to pursue an independent research project at ETH Zurich. The fellowship is designed to help promising early-career researchers develop academic independence while working with an ETH Zurich professor as their mentor

- Hold a PhD/doctoral degree, or obtain it within six months after the application deadline. - If the PhD has already been awarded, it must have been obtained no more than two years before the application deadline. - Have at least one peer-reviewed scientific publication or a prize for the doctoral thesis. - Secure an ETH Zurich professor willing to act as your mentor. - Develop an independent research project with convincing synergy with the host group. - The applicant and proposed ETH host should not have closely collaborated before the fellowship. - Applicants who have lived or carried out their main activity in Switzerland for more than 12 months during the three years immediately preceding the deadline are ineligible. - Applicants who have spent more than six months at ETH Zurich, EPFL, another ETH-domain research institute, or the University of Zurich during the preceding three years are also ineligible.
