About this opportunity

The International Granada Writers in Residence Programme provides an international literary residency for writers from around the world. Two selected writers will spend 30 nights in Granada, developing their literary work while engaging with Granada's literary community through workshops, educational activities and other cultural events. The 2026 residency will take place at the historic Corrala de Santiago, University of Granada.

Requirements

- Be a writer residing in any country. - Write in any language. - Have published at least two individually authored books. - Eligible genres include: - Novels - Essays - Poetry - Drama - Hybrid literary forms. - Self-published books are not eligible. - Contributions to anthologies or collective volumes do not count toward the two-book requirement. - Chapbooks/plaquettes do not count as books. - Submit a proposal explaining the literary project to be developed during the residency. - Be available to participate in the programme's public events and activities. - Knowledge of Spanish is valued but not essential.
