About this opportunity
The KNOWCASE Digital Culture Open Call seeks an original, previously unexhibited digital-culture installation to occupy KNOWCASE, a street-level exhibition space at Fundación Cotec's headquarters in Madrid. The selected proposal will combine art, technology, science, research, knowledge and data with social impact, while encouraging public participation, critical thinking and reflection. The winning installation is expected to be exhibited from 2027 onwards for a minimum of 24 months.
Requirements
- Submit an original and new proposal that has never been exhibited before.
- The proposal must be within the field of digital culture.
- Projects should combine elements such as:
- Art
- Technology
- Science
- Research
- Knowledge
- Data
- Social impact.
- Include an interactive and participatory component.
- Encourage critical thinking and public reflection.
- Be technically and practically viable for exhibition for at least 24 months.
- Address themes related to art, science, culture and society.
- Projects exploring social transitions are particularly encouraged, including:
- Analogue → digital society
- Linear → circular production/consumption
- Tangible → intangible economy.
- Eligible applicants include individual artists, collectives, designers, technologists, universities, research centres, startups, companies, creative agencies, cultural institutions and multidisciplinary teams.
