About this opportunity

The Art & Stories Residency is a 3-month international artist residency in Geneva supporting artists whose projects make substantial use of the archives of international organisations. The programme encourages artists to transform archival materials—documents, reports, photographs and other records—into new artistic works and narratives. Accessible archives include those of organisations such as the UNHCR, United Nations, ILO, ICRC, IFRC, WHO and WIPO.

Requirements

- Be a professional artist. - Be over 28 years old at the time of application. - Work in a relevant artistic field, including: - Visual arts - Performing arts - Music - Literature - Comics - Cinema - Dance - Theatre - Design - Video - Applied arts. - Have a substantial professional record of creations, publications and/or performances. - Not currently be enrolled in a basic artistic training programme. - Speak French or English. - Propose a project that uses archives of international organisations as its main resources. - Explain the artistic project to be developed and presented in Geneva. - Submit a single PDF of no more than 15 pages, containing: - Cover letter - Project description - Selection of recent works - Updated CV. - Cover personal travel expenses and any artistic production costs not covered by the residency
