About this opportunity
The Hammond House International Poetry Prize is part of the 2026 Hammond House International Literary Prize, an annual international writing competition open to writers worldwide. The 2026 poetry category asks entrants to submit one original poem of no more than 40 lines based on this year's theme, “Destiny.” Shortlisted poems are published in the Hammond House annual anthology.
Requirements
- Be eligible to enter the international competition regardless of location.
- Submit one poem per entry.
- Poem must be no more than 40 lines.
- The 2026 theme is “Destiny.”
- The work must be original and unpublished.
- The entrant's name must not appear anywhere on the manuscript, as judging is anonymous.
- Preferred formatting:
- Arial
- 12-point font
- 1.5 line spacing.
- Submit the entry through the official Hammond House competition portal.
- Pay the applicable entry fee.
