About this opportunity
SAM Residencies Cycle 4 is a fully supported international residency programme running from June 2027 to December 2028. The Artist Residency is designed for artists and collectives developing new artistic research, experimentation and modes of making. The 2027/28 cycle is organised around three thematic strands: Listening/Attuning, Making/Material Cultures, and Beyond Human/Interdependence.
Requirements
- Be an artist or artistic collective.
- Be 21 years or older.
- Applicants may be based in Singapore or internationally.
- Open to applicants working across all artistic mediums and disciplines.
- Apply as an individual, duo or collective.
- Submit:
- CV/resume
- Portfolio
- 500–1,000-word Statement of Interest
- Recommendation/character reference.
- The statement should explain how the applicant's practice relates to one or more of the Cycle 4 thematic strands.
- Applicants may apply for only one residency type during the cycle.
- International applicants must be able to commit to being physically present in Singapore during the residency.
- Selected residents are expected to participate in SAM Residencies' public programmes and activations.
