About this opportunity
The SAM Community & Education Residency is part of SAM Residencies Cycle 4 (2027/2028) and supports practitioners working at the intersection of artistic practice, education and community engagement. Residents develop and experiment with approaches that connect contemporary art with communities, learning and public engagement. The programme is open internationally and is organised around three thematic strands: Listening/Attuning, Making/Material Cultures, and Beyond Human/Interdependence.
Requirements
- Be a practitioner working at the intersection of:Artistic practice
- Education
- Community engagement.
- Applications are open to individuals, duos and collectives.
- Applicants can work across all mediums and disciplines.
- Applicants may be based anywhere in the world.
- Submit:
- CV/Resume
- Portfolio
- 500–1,000-word Statement of Interest
- Recommendation/character reference.
- The Statement of Interest should explain how your practice connects with one or more of Cycle 4's thematic strands.
- International applicants must be able to undertake the residency physically in Singapore.
- Applicants may apply for only one residency type within the Cycle 4 open call.
