About this opportunity
Mesa Refuge offers two-week residencies for writers and activists who need dedicated time and space to develop projects addressing pressing issues such as nature, climate, social justice, economic equity and related contemporary issues. The residency takes place in Point Reyes Station, California, where three residents live together in a house with private and shared spaces. International applicants are welcome
Requirements
- Be a writer, activist or creative practitioner working on a relevant project.
- Applicants may be at any stage of their career.
- International applicants are welcome.
- Submit:
- One writing sample of no more than 2,000 words or 10 pages
- Current résumé
- Headshot photograph
- Brief biography
- Two references.
- Letters of recommendation are not required.
- Applicants should have a project they intend to work on during the residency.
- Applications are submitted individually; collaborative teams cannot currently apply together.
- Residents must be able to attend the assigned two-week residency in person.
