About this opportunity

The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans supports 30 exceptional immigrants and children of immigrants pursuing full-time graduate or professional degrees in the United States. Fellows receive up to $90,000 over two years, along with access to a national alumni network and professional development opportunities. The fellowship is merit-based and open to applicants across all fields of study

Requirements

- Be 30 years old or younger as of 29 October 2026. - Be a New American — an immigrant or child of immigrants. - If an immigrant, qualify through one of the programme's recognised New American statuses, including naturalised U.S. citizen, green-card holder, asylee or refugee, or certain individuals who completed both high school and college in the United States. - Have a bachelor's degree by fall 2027. - Plan to enrol in or continue a full-time, degree-granting graduate or professional programme in the United States during the 2027–2028 academic year. - The programme must be fully accredited. - Applicants may apply while applying to graduate school; admission does not need to have been secured at the time of application. - Applicants already in graduate school must not have started the third year of the programme they seek funding for by the deadline. - Online graduate programmes are eligible. - Submit: - Resume/CV - Two essays - College/graduate transcripts - Required test scores where applicable - 3 recommendations minimum; up to 5 may be submitted. - Demonstrate creativity, originality, initiative, sustained accomplishment and potential for significant future contributions
