Africa Is a Country is an independent publication offering critical perspectives on African social, political and cultural issues. It welcomes unsolicited submissions from writers and other contributors whose work is timely, compelling, well-researched and accessible. The publication particularly values perspectives that challenge conventional narratives about Africa and its diaspora.
Requirements checklist

Submit an original article or other suitable contribution.

Typical articles are approximately 700–800 words.
- 03
Longer pieces may be accepted when the subject warrants additional length.
- 04
The submission should be:
• Timely • Compelling • Well researched • Accessible to a knowledgeable general audience.

Writers should research existing AIAC articles on similar subjects before submitting.
- 06
Include relevant hyperlinks within the article rather than footnotes or formal citations.

Submit the work as a Word attachment; AIAC prefers .doc over .docx.

Include:
• Suggested title • Author's name • 1–2 sentence biography • Email, website or social-media details.

Relevant photographs, videos, audio or other media may be included.
