About this opportunity

The Artist Protection Fund (APF) provides fellowship support and safe-haven placements to artists facing immediate, severe and targeted threats to their lives or artistic careers. Successful fellows are placed with host institutions in safe countries where they can continue their artistic work, develop their practice and plan for their future. The programme accepts artists from any artistic discipline and any country.

Requirements

- Be a professional artist working in any artistic field or discipline. - Be facing, or have recently fled from, immediate, severe and targeted threats to your life and/or artistic practice. - Demonstrate artistic merit and a strong quality/potential in your work. - Show that the fellowship would help you continue your artistic practice safely. - Applicants may be from any country. - Individuals may apply directly, and individuals or institutions may also nominate artists for consideration. - Be prepared to undertake a fellowship placement at a suitable host institution in a safe country. - Host institutions may include: - Universities - Art residencies - Cultural centres - Performing-arts organisations - Artistic communities.
