About this opportunity
The Emergency Grants programme provides urgent, project-based funding to contemporary and experimental artists who have a sudden opportunity to present completed work publicly or who face unexpected/unbudgeted expenses for a project close to completion. Support is available for visual and performing artists and poets, with projects taking place in the U.S. or abroad
Requirements
- Be an individual artist or an individual representing an artist collective, ensemble or group.
- Be living in the United States or a U.S. territory.
- Have a U.S. Tax ID Number such as SSN, EIN or ITIN.
- Work must be contemporary and experimental in nature.
- Have a confirmed public exhibition, performance, screening, reading, installation or similar presentation with specific dates.
- The presentation should generally be less than 10 weeks away when applying.
- The request must relate to:
- A sudden, unanticipated opportunity to present work, or
- Unexpected/unbudgeted expenses for a project close to completion.
- Applicants must provide work samples and a project budget.
- Applicants enrolled in a degree-granting programme are not eligible.
- Artists must observe FCA's 36-month waiting period after receiving certain FCA grants.
