About this opportunity
The McDonald Fellowship supports early-career multiple sclerosis (MS) researchers from low- and middle-income countries to undertake a two-year research placement at an institution outside their home country. Fellows gain specialist research expertise and international experience, with the expectation that they will use these skills to strengthen MS research and/or patient care in their home countries
Requirements
- Must be a citizen of a low-, lower-middle-, or upper-middle-income country as defined by the World Bank.
- Must be working or studying in a low- or middle-income country at the time of application, or have started a project in another country within the previous six months.
- Must have postgraduate-level education, at least an MSc and preferably a PhD or MD, in a field relevant to MS.
- Must have fewer than five years of postdoctoral research experience.
- Proposed research must be relevant to multiple sclerosis.
- Must identify a suitable host institution and supervisor outside the applicant's own country before applying.
- Must agree on the research project with the host supervisor.
- Must provide two referee references in addition to the host supervisor's supporting statement.
