About this opportunity
The WACA Student Scholars Program selects 25 undergraduate students from communities served by WACA's local World Affairs Councils to attend the WACA National Conference in Washington, D.C. at no cost. Scholars also participate in Student Scholar Day, which includes visits to think tanks, embassies, international organizations and other institutions. WACA supports participants' travel, accommodation and meals.
Requirements
- Must be an undergraduate student aged 18 or older.
- Must attend a college or university in a community served by a WACA member Council.
- Must first be nominated by a local World Affairs Council.
- Only one student may be nominated by each Council.
- Must submit a current résumé.
- Must submit a 1–2 page Letter of Intent.
- Must provide a recommendation letter through the local Council nomination process.
- High school students, graduate students and students attending institutions in the Greater Washington, D.C. area are not eligible.
- Previous nominees who were not selected are also ineligible
