The Kitty Carr Grant supports postgraduate research focused specifically on the prevention of maternal deaths. Eligible research areas include obstetrics, health systems and health policy. Projects may be standalone or part of a larger research project, provided the proposed deliverables can be completed within two years.

Requirements checklist

    Must be affiliated with a Canadian university or healthcare institution able to provide ethics review under Canadian standards.

    Must be a member in good standing of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC).

    Postgraduate researchers are specifically encouraged.

  4. 04

    Proposed research must directly address prevention of maternal mortality.

  5. 05

    Research project must have achievable deliverables within two years or less.

  6. 06

    Application must include a cover letter, CV, itemized budget, institutional support letter, 250-word project description and research proposal of no more than four pages, excluding abstract and references.
