The New England Biolabs Foundation Grant supports grassroots organisations and nonprofit groups working on community-led conservation, biodiversity protection and cultural diversity. The foundation funds projects that protect landscapes and seascapes, preserve traditional knowledge, maintain ecosystem services and strengthen local food security and economic resilience. Funding is geographically restricted to selected communities in West Africa, Central America and the Andean region of South America, as well as coastal communities on the North Shore of Massachusetts. This is an organisational project grant, not a personal scholarship or individual business grant.
Requirements checklist

Applicant must be a grassroots organisation, nonprofit organisation or eligible NGO.

Project must be located in one of the foundation's approved geographic areas.

Project should demonstrate community participation and alignment with the foundation's conservation and biocultural-diversity priorities.

Submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) through the foundation's online portal.
- 05
A full proposal can only be submitted after an invitation from the foundation.
- 06
First-time applicants should not assume they will receive the maximum grant amount.
