The fund supports community-led projects that help digital Research Technical Professional (dRTP) staff develop leadership skills, improve career pathways, build professional communities, and test approaches that can be sustained beyond the grant period. It has a pilot strand for new ideas and a growth strand for projects that expand existing initiatives.

Requirements checklist

  1. 01

    Secure a UK-based eligible organisation to lead the application.

  2. 02

    Ensure the project is led by dRTP professionals and involves the relevant community meaningfully.

  3. 03

    Propose a pilot of no more than one year, or a growth project that meets the programme's duration rules.

  4. 04

    Include an appropriate sustainability plan for longer projects or leadership-training projects.

  5. 05

    Budget for the usual 80% of full economic cost provided to UK research organisations, with the institution covering the remaining 20%.

  6. 06

    Keep the combined costs claimed for international collaborators within the published limit; international collaborators cannot act as project lead.

    Include institutional approval and submit through the official GoodGrants platform
