Investigative Journalism and AccountabilityReporting 2027
All Information
FIJ supports investigative reporting that exposes wrongdoing, corruption, misuse of power or other matters of public interest. Funding is available for freelance journalists, staff reporters and media outlets working on print, online, broadcast, documentary, podcast or book projects. Seed funding is intended for preliminary reporting that helps a journalist develop a larger investigation. This opportunity is not universally international: FIJ states that foreign-based story proposals need a strong US connection, must be published in English and must have a US media outlet.

Propose a new, nonpartisan investigative story with a clear public-interest purpose.

- 06
Foreign-based applicants must satisfy FIJ’s US-angle, English-language and US-media-outlet requirements.
