This programme supports publishers translating Lithuanian literature into other languages and publishing the resulting books in 2027–2028. It can help publishers bring Lithuanian fiction, nonfiction, and illustrated children’s books to new readers internationally. This is a genuine publishing grant, not an individual-writer stipend. A Nigerian publishing house may be a potential applicant if it meets the Institute’s legal-entity and publishing requirements and proposes an eligible translation project.

Requirements checklist

    Apply through an eligible publishing company or other qualifying legal entity.

    Propose a publication involving the translation of Lithuanian literature.

  3. 03

    Provide a presentation of the publishing house and its recent translation publications.

  4. 04

    Explain the book’s relevance, distribution channels, and marketing plan.

  5. 05

    Provide written agreements with the copyright holder and translator.

  6. 06

    Supply the translator’s professional biography and translation record.

  7. 07

    Complete the required application forms and declarations.

  8. 08

    Translate supporting documents into English or Lithuanian where required.
