American Philosophical Society: FranklinResearch Grants
All Information
The Franklin Research Grants support noncommercial scholarly research across a broad range of disciplines. Funding is intended to meet specific research costs such as archival work, library research, fieldwork, laboratory expenses and the acquisition of research materials. It is especially useful for scholars who need a relatively small amount of funding to complete a defined stage of a larger research project. International eligibility is limited, however: applicants who are foreign nationals and are not affiliated with a United States institution must use the grant for research conducted in the United States. Nigerian researchers should therefore apply only if their proposed research and circumstances satisfy this rule.
