The NL Scholarship at the University of Twente is intended to support excellent international students from outside the European Economic Area who want to pursue a master’s degree in the Netherlands. It offers a one-time financial contribution to help students meet the costs associated with studying abroad. Nigerian students are eligible to apply if they meet the university’s admission conditions, achieve the required academic standard and receive an offer for an eligible master’s programme beginning in the 2027/2028 academic year. The award is not renewable and does not cover tuition fees directly or guarantee enough money to meet all living expenses, so applicants should prepare a realistic financial plan before accepting an offer.

Requirements checklist

    Be a non-EU/EEA applicant.

    Apply for an eligible master’s programme beginning in September 2027.

    Have a conditional or unconditional admission offer from the University of Twente.

    Demonstrate strong academic performance, normally within the top 5–10% of the graduating class.

    Meet the university’s English-language and immigration requirements.

  6. 06

    Submit the scholarship application by 1 April 2027.
