The Innovation Validation Call helps teams advance digital and AI-enabled medical technologies that are close to market but still require clinical evidence, regulatory preparation or product validation. It is designed for projects that need to demonstrate safety and efficacy, prepare regulatory submissions and strengthen commercial readiness. This is a substantial opportunity for healthcare startups working with research institutions and other partners, but it is not a general-purpose small-business grant: projects must meet the call’s technical maturity and European impact requirements.
Requirements checklist

Apply as a consortium of at least two organisations from different countries.

Include partners representing at least two sides of the knowledge triangle: industry, research and education.

Ensure a commercialising company leads the project.
- 04
Focus on an eligible digital or AI-enabled medical device at the required innovation maturity level.

Demonstrate a credible plan for clinical validation, regulatory submission and commercialisation.
- 06
Register the organisation in the EU Funding & Tenders Portal and follow the official application process.
